Saucy tribalret combinations
In this class we'll start with a short warm up then go into some fun combinations,
breaking down technique, dynamics and attitude emphasis as we go along. These
combinations will focus on creating contrast between the tight, staccato, grounded
movements of tribal fusion and the light, fluid, airy movements of cabaret style. This
workshop is fit for all levels and for any dancer looking to add some new dynamics and a
little something different to their repertoire. All presented to you in real time,
Teresa-style; fun, fast, upbeat, funky and raw!
Teresa Camp has been studying bellydance for the past 6 years with teachers from all over the bay area, her main
mentors being Sherry Brier and TerriAnne Gutierrez. Her overall performance, dance and music background span over 18
years! She has studied swing, go-go dance and smatterings of modern and hip hop along the way. She is often known for
doing something different and unexpected at every turn and brings a great deal of passion and stage presence to
performances. Her mission is to learn from the best, understand the history and root of the dance and movement, and then
respectfully challenge the status quo! In addition to her solo dance duties Teresa is a member of troupe Joweh and sings in
the band Arcane Dimension.

In this workshop we’ll cover; setting a base, contouring and
highlighting, how to get those ‘tribal fusion’ eyes, color
saturation, embellishing and adding texture, how much is too
much (is there such a thing?), techniques for different eye
shapes, false eyelashes, getting the perfect pucker and how to
make it all stay through a performance! Teresa will not only
share her techniques but what brands and tools she uses and
her resources for new ideas! This class is open to all levels.
Dancing Inside Out
This class will introduce techniques on accessing the deeper
muscles to move with less effort and tips on how to bring your
dance and performance to a new level of liveliness, no matter
what form you are doing. We will start to travel inward and access
the deep structural muscles of the body, awakening them to help
relax the external muscles we have all come to rely on, in turn
making your movement stronger and more intentional. We will
play with different ideas in movement, where the focus lies and
directs, and ways to initiate combinations. Various ways of
storytelling through dance will be addressed, and how to get your
intention across, no matter what it is. The class will have
emphasis and technique from Bellydance, Butoh, Contemporary,
and Burlesque.
